Any Refinery that is deployed at an Upwell Moon Mining Beacon can install a Standup Moon Drill in order to rip large chunks out of the nearby moon and then lift them up to fracture them into smaller asteroids that can be mined by capsuleers. This process is also called "Moon Mining".
The Upwell Moon Mining Beacon becomes visible after warping to a moon. Once a Standup Moon Drill is set up on such a Refinery and turned online, an Extraction Schedule can be set while taking control of the structure, using the respective buttons on the right hand side of the structure controls. The longer the time frame for an extraction is, the larger the chunk that is being pulled up by the Moon Drill can be.
The length of the extraction cycle can be set to any value between 6 and 56 Days. Below the slider to set the extraction length, the days before and after the end of the chosen extraction cycle are shown, along with indicators for the current vulnerability window schedule of the structure around the end of the extraction cycle.
This preview assumes that the vulnerability windows are not changed before the extraction cycle completes. Further below, the expected volume and ore types of the chunk that currently is or is about to be extracted are listed as well. Starting an extraction will then cause the Moon Drill to shoot at the moon and drag the resulting chunk up to the refinery over the course of the planned extraction cycle.
Any character who is able to take control of the refinery will be able to start an extraction, but only the CEO, Directors or a member with the Station Manager role of the corporation owning the refinery may cancel an ongoing extraction cycle. After the extraction cycle completed, the moon chunk will be ready outside of the Refinery, waiting for the moon drill to fire at it again in order to break it apart into smaller asteroids that can then be mined by capsuleers using a mining laser, much like a normal ore asteroid.
The completion of the extraction cycle is also indicated to any visitors of the structure by the Tractor Beam of the Moon Drill turning yellow.
This time until automatic fracture can be extended by a rig on the Refinery. Once a chunk has been destroyed, a new extraction cycle can be planned and started immediately, and the asteroids of a destroyed chunk will remain around for a few days if they are not mined away earlier. The length of time that the asteroids will stay around can also be extended through the use of a rig on the refinery. The following ores are only obtainable through Moon Mining, and they can be reprocessed more efficiently with the following skills:.
This should be taken into consideration when choosing the spot for the refinery to avoid the situation where the asteroids from a chunk would appear too close the beacon itself, preventing the deployable structures from being placed near the belt. Moon Mining Beacons are available in all systems with a security rating of 0. Attachments No Attachments with this Article.
Powered by Zendesk. In order to figure out what ores a potential moon for Moon Mining Operations contains, it can be scanned using a Survey Probe Launcher and one of the survey probes, which require the skills "Astrometrics" and "Survey" to be trained to at least level 3. There are three different kinds of survey probes, which differ in their size, required skills and time required for a scan:.
In order to scan a moon, the scanning capsuleer first needs to warp to the moon that is to be surveyed. Once there, the ship needs to be aligned towards the moon before launching the probe, simply flying towards it is enough.
Once the probe is launched, it will continue on the ships trajectory and the probe has to hit the moon in order to produce a scan result.
It is entirely possible to launch more probes and scan multiple moons at once while waiting for the results of already launched probes. All current probes in space as well as the scan results obtained within the system are available within the Moon Probe and Analysis window:.
Contact to any probes in space will be lost when the scanning capsuleer leaves the system in any capacity, such as by jumping out or docking.Ar 15 trump mag
Once results have been received from the probes, they will be available within the Moon Analysis window until the next log out. There are three different kinds of survey probes, which differ in their size, required skills and time required for a scan: Quest Survey Probe I - The easiest to use with the lowest skill requirements, takes 20 minutes to complete a scan Discovery Survey Probe I - As easy to use as the Quest Survey Probes, but the quicker scanning time of 5 minutes comes at a larger size of the probe.
However, using Gaze Probes requires considerably more training of the involved skills. Attachments No Attachments with this Article.Orca Nullsec Mining - EVE Online
Powered by Zendesk. The Lifeblood expansion was released on October 24,and brought with it substantial changes to the process of moon mining. Previously moon mining was completed using player-owned starbasesbut the Lifeblood expansion introduced a new class of Upwell structures called refinerieswhich if anchored in 0. Moon scans return details on the average output of a moon, and allow would-be moon miners to understand what the value of the moon might be so that the best available moon can be selected.
An example of a moon scan result is shown below. Moon scanning is different than probe scanning from exploration, in two critical ways. First, Survey probes are consumed when they are launched, and cannot be recalled to the ship. Second, the ship must be pointed directly at the target moon when the probe is launched. If the ship is not facing the moon when a survey probe is launched, the probe may 'miss' the moon and return no results. The probe is still consumed when this happens.
There are three types of Survey probes. They differ in skill requirement, size, and the "maximum flight time" which is the measure used for how long it will take to return data. The data returned by each type of probe will always be the same, so the primary considerations are how many a ship can carry if probing a system with lots of moons, or many systems and how long it takes to get the results.
The Survey Probe Launcher fits in a high slot, but does not require a turret or launcher hardpoint. This allows it to be used on a wide variety of hulls. Only one survey probe launcher of either variant can be fitted to a ship at a time. Survey Probes must be launched directly at the target moon, from within ,km of it. This means you must physically align your ship to the moon, as the probe is launched in a straight line along your path of travel.
Once in range and aligned, cycle the Survey Probe Launcher to launch a probe. It does not auto-repeat, but it will auto-reload if emptied and additional probes are available in the cargohold. Upon launching a probe, a new window will be displayed showing the remaining time for the probe to return its results.
The ship must stay in-system and undocked until the results are sent back from the probe, and the results will appear in the bottom half of the same window. The window will keep these results until the user logs out of the game, even if they move to another system.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.12v pellet stove

Also can some other players come and mine your ore while it's being extracted or something? Is it possible to mine all or most the ore a moon produces in a T2 mining barge? Lastly what happens if all the moons already have refineries placed around them? Showing 1 - 3 of 3 comments. Harrison View Profile View Posts. You have to be in a Corp to deploy structures.
Be aware that owning structures opens you up to war declarations now. Solo as a single character, yes.
Yes, other players can mine at your moon. In a single barge, no. Moons can only have one drilling refinery. Any others placed near it, are simply that, placed near the moon. Last edited by Harrison ; 4 Jan, pm. Kodokuro View Profile View Posts.
I have seen streams of pilots mining other moon rocks in high sec. They don't really care since they don't deplete completely their belt.
Just ask before trying this. Miners are friendly people. The Mining Ledger allows both individuals and corporations to track mining activity in order to make more informed decisions about their industrial enterprise.G532g pit file error
There was a clear call from the CSM for corporations and alliances to be able to track who is mining the materials cleaved from moons by refinery structures, and the developers saw a strong need for all pilots to be able to track their own individual mining activity. Out of these discussions the Personal and Corporate Mining Ledgers were born.
We know that a vast majority of you love graphs, and so we've made sure your personal mining activity is represented in ways you like best: lines and bars - with filters to boot! The Personal Mining Ledger tracks all of the mining activity done by a character, anywhere in New Eden. As a pilot mines, the mining information is collected and batched into days in order to create a personal mining history.
We have been gathering the mining data of each individual pilot in New Eden since the June release to allow miners a glimpse into their activity history when the ledger is released. Just like other tools, the Ledger can be dragged from this section to your Neocom, so that it is always readily available.
The Corporate Mining Ledger grants information on who exactly has been mining your moon ore, both friend and foe. The Corporate Mining Ledger is tied to mining activity around Refineries. Who mines these asteroids, what corporation they belong to and how much they mine, is tracked in the Corporate Mining Ledger.
It is worth noting that this information is not available in real-time and corporations must be vigilant in their guarding against those who may wish to steal their precious ores. The information in both the Personal Mining Ledger and the Corporate Mining Ledger is being presented in this simple format as we know that each individual and individual group will have their own needs and ways of using this information. Group size, organizational structure and internal tax policies are just a few aspects that affect how this information can be used.
Rather than restrict this use through formatting, we are presenting this to you as openly as possible in order to give you the chance to make the most of your mining.
The information in the Personal and Corporate Mining Ledgers can be exported to your Clipboard or reached through the API endpoints due to be published shortly. We are looking forward to the tools that our very talented 3rd Party Developer community creates in this regard.
